Quiz: How Many Missionaries Leave the Field Each Day?

Startling Numbers!
Did you know that every single day, over 70 missionaries leave the Mission Field?
Some of these people leave for retirement, medical issues, death, or family crisis.
But the majority of these people are leaving because of:
- Depression and burnout from high stress jobs that incorporate very little encouragement or support
- Conflict with people in their own mission agency or local agencies
- Invisibility to their supporters which leads to loss of adequate financial support
Why We Founded One Village Group
This ongoing, massive exodus (think 500+ per week) of missionaries from the Mission Field is one of main reasons we founded One Village Group.
We realized that sending new people into the Mission Field is great, but what would be even greater is if (along with sending new people into the mission field) we were able to help keep more of the older, experienced missionaries in the Field longer and stronger.
How We Help Stem the Tide
At One Village Group we encourage and train up missionaries in modern communication theories and practices and provide them with the tools to specifically to address the three main crisis areas missionaries face today:
- Depression and Burnout - We give missionaries the tools and the training they need to be better, and more frequently, connected to their support base back home. This connectedness brings the help and encouragement they need to avoid depression and burnout.
- Conflict - When missionaries are not in "burnout" or "depression mode", they can navigate internal strife and blowups in the Field much easier.
- Financial Support - By making "invisible" missionaries "visible" to their current and future supporters (blog pages and updates), supporters understand better what the missionary is accomplishing which makes them more likely to continue or increase their financial support to the missionary (See: Seeing the Invisible)
Simple???
Maybe this sounds simple - but it isn't.
The competition for people's attention in today's world is FIERCE! Missionaries who do not have the tools and the training to remain visible and relevant, are quickly disappearing from the conscience of their supporters and the world as a whole.
It is a crisis in missions that everyone in missions knows is happening, but few are addressing.
Over 70 missionaries a day are leaving the Field.
We need to stop the bleeding.
Thank You
We want to thank you once again for your prayers and financial support - you are helping us help them!
One Village Group would not exist if it wasn't for God blessing us with friends like you.
In Christ,
